The latest release vehicles and motorbikes from around the world will be on display at MotorWorld Sydney, a new five day motoring festival at Sydney Motorsport Park in Western Sydney.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events and Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres today announced MotorWorld Sydney had been secured for three years from 2016 by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW.
“This fantastic new event, obtained exclusively for Western Sydney, is set to attract car enthusiasts from around Australia and the world to Sydney Motorsport Park at Eastern Creek,” Mr Ayres said.
“MotorWorld Sydney will be a live and interactive exhibition that will appeal to car enthusiasts, industry buyers and families. In the first three years, the event is expected to attract almost 28,000 domestic and international visitors, with a visitor spend of more than $15 million, providing an enormous boost to the Western Sydney visitor economy.”
The inaugural event is scheduled for November 2016 and is set to be broadcast in part on free to air television.
Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said the arrival of MotorWorld confirms NSW as Australia’s favourite State for major motoring events.
“MotorWorld Sydney will join a packed calendar of world class motoring events secured for NSW, including Rally Australia in Coffs Harbour, the Bathurst 12 Hour and the Sydney SuperSprint and Sydney 500 V8 Supercar events,” Ms Chipchase said.
“Securing events like MotorWorld Sydney for NSW is critical as we develop our Major Events Calendar and work towards the NSW Government’s target of doubling overnight visitor expenditure by 2020.”
